Barnabus...Can you help??

The Background

Barnabus first came onto the streets of Manchester in August 1991. The ministry has grown from modest roots. The Lord has taken hold of Barnabus, and with the help of the Maranatha Community and the Christian church in Manchester, who both prayerfully and financially support the work, Barnabus has grown, taking the word of God to more and more homeless people. A small van was purchased which allowed us to take more clothing, and general food supplies out onto the streets and, following a great many prayers, we bought what was to become our first mobile medical unit, a double-decker bus, 'BARNABUS'. Since that time the Lord has moved us ever onward. We are now out on the streets four nights a week working amongst the homeless, those with drug and alcohol related problems, and the prostitutes. The ministry also extends to the prisons at Buckley Hall and Styal, supporting the women as they prepare for their release. In recent years we have also purchased and renovated a building, the Beacon, which has become our home in the city centre. Over the years we have been supported by a great many individuals and numerous organisations to whom we owe many.

Can you help??

Currently Barnabus are in particular need of help with their ministry and are looking for help in overseeing, maintaining and driving their vehicle fleet. An ideal candidate would live in or around the North of Manchester as this is where the vehicles are located and also be capable of driving their long-based Mercedes van.

Roles would include:
- maintenance
- cleaning
- driving
- coordinating of volunteers

Barnabus ideally are looking to cover  3 evenings per week 7.30-11pm for 2 vehicles

With the ever increasing and significant work of Barnabus their current capacity in this area is not enough to reach the potential that Barnabus could achieve.
