 Hope Unleashed Prayer Support

We are trying to build a team of people across Greater Manchester to pray for specific HOPE
‘08 events as they happen through the year. The idea is to have ongoing prayer at each venue.
Prayers will start an hour before the event and will go on all the way through to when it
finishes. Those interested can sign up to pray for 15, 30, 60 minutes or more.

We are believing God for 10,000 new young people to respond to the gospel this year through
events such as Hope Unleashed and schools’ weeks. Our hope is to then see them discipled
and part of a vibrant church in their area. In order for this to happen our level of prayer and
intercession for the lost has to increase. We need to have all these events soaked in prayer.

If you have a heart for prayer and would like to get involved in this exciting way of extending
God’s kingdom in Greater Manchester please contact:

 Prayer Event

Prayer for the City 2008

In the year of Hope, prayer is going to be vital to the ongoing action throughout 2008. There is no better time than right now to unite under the banner of Hope to pray for Greater Manchester and Macclesfield. Since the 12th century Manchester Cathedral has been a focal point for all Christianity in Manchester and once again this evening will provide an opportunity for a blend of all traditions and denominations to unite in Manchester Cathedral for praise and intercession to see God's kingdom come in Manchester as it is in heaven.

On Tuesday, November the 18th the last City Wide prayer event returned to Manchester Cathedral to celebrate all that has happened in the Hope year and for the events that are still to happen. The evening was entitled 'A Celebration of Hope' and the evening provided a chance to reflect upon the successes of the year, the high points and to remember the blessing of God throughout the year. Over 200 people came together for this opportunity to join with people from all across Greater Manchester to give thanks for the Hope year and to acknowledge the impact its had on Greater Manchester as a whole.

The prayer event recognised the impact Hope2008 had upon Greater Manchester and the catalyst it had been for increased mission, increased prayer and increased unity. At the prayer event plans for Hope in Greater Manchester to continue throughout 2009 were announced in recognition of the need to continue the good work started in 2008. In view of this the next united prayer event at Manchester Cathedral was announced to be held on Tuesday, March the 10th 2009. Watch this space for more details!

On March the 11th Manchester Cathedral once again hosted a unique evening of worship and prayer incorporating all different styles and servants from across the city. The evening started  with a minutes silence in rememberance of Michael Todd. The theme of the evening was 'Hope - the story so far' and there were focuses on various events that have already happened with prayers of thanksgiving and a forward look at what is to come supported by prayers of expectation. The night was rounded off by another significant time focussing on praying for others with the lighting of candles to represent taking light and hope out to our societies and communities.

Due to popular demand Hope in Greater Manchester decided to arrange a special summer prayer for the city event in July. Once again Manchester Cathedral was the venue and the theme for the evening was salvation. It was a poignant evening to reflect and pray for those who we want to see come to know God. Origami doves with prayers and those names were made and displayed in the Cathedral as a representation and commitment to pray for individuals. The evening provided a gateway into the next Hope high point which is Hope Explored and here in Manchester starting to get ready for The Game of Life with J John in September.

 Dreaming of a Holy Night

Dreaming of a Holy Night

DOAHN cropped banner

GRAHAM KENDRICK'S songs are known around the world, and have become part of Christian worship in many nations – songs such as The Servant King, Knowing You and of course his most famous; Shine Jesus Shine. But now, in a return to his poetic song writing roots and a departure from his usual congregation-centred approach, Graham has produced a set of songs that resonates with his excitement and passion for the events surrounding Christ’s birth. The result is Dreaming Of A Holy Night launched as an album last year, and going on tour for the first time in November and December 2008, with thirteen dates in the UK - which only the second date is in our very own Macclesfield! Graham’s top class band and singers, will be joined by local choirs for a presentation based on the album.
